THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD

LAGOS PROVINCE 2

TRIUMPHANT TEENS CHURCH

                                                            USHERING MINISTRY

WeLcOmE tO oUr HoMe

This is our little way of saying welcome to our world posibilities...

  • RULES AND GUIDES IN THE SERVICE OF GOD

        WHO ARE THE USHERS?

Ushers are guides, porters or watchmen as noted in the scriptures. Also they are known as ministering cherubim in Heaven.

  • As Guides:         Prov 6: 7, Neh 4: 22
  • As Porters:        2Chron 35: 15
  • As Watchmen:       Jer 51: 12

Therefore, ushers are co-workers in the Lords vineyard. They are links between the Ministers and the Church. They are intermediaries and act as go-betweens between the Pastorate and the congregation in the service of the Lord.

We bid you Welcome!

  • QUALIFICATIONS FOR ONE TO BE AN USHER

1.                    An usher must be faithful and be of good report, Neh7: 1-3

2.                    An usher must be cheerful, respectful and friendly. As the point of contact that creates impression about the Church, they are to be good ambassadors of Christ and of good conduct.

3.                    An usher should be honest, transparent and trustworthy.

4.                    Every usher must be neat, good looking, well dressed and approachable.

5.                    Ushers must be obedient and firm to the standing policy of the ministry.

6.                   Because words are powerful, an usher must not be talkative (James3: 1-12), not slumber (Isaiah5: 27) and always be at alert.

7.                    An usher must be vigilant and defend the integrity of the body of Christ and his people against the enemies of God (Neh7: 17,21)

  • OUR MODE OF DRESSING

MALE:  Every male usher is to be neatly dressed in English attire; good shirt, trousers and/or suit (we call it corporate), tie, stockings, neat shoes (particularly black) with a neat-looking hair cut and of course a very huge smile on the face to give to the people as they come.

FEMALE: Every female usher must be in a good black skirt (not brief or short), good blouse, with a good hat or beret, and also a neat shoe. Their mode of dressing does not permit them to  put on tight dresses that could expose their bodies. Extreme make-ups are also not allowed.

All dressing code must be to glorify our Father in Heaven. Phil 4:8
