HOD, Drama Department

OUR DRAMA MINISTRY

The drama group is a branch of the workforce in the Teens Church that looks into the problems encountered by teenagers, physically, spiritually, morally, academically or financially and tries to proffer solution through drama. Drama is ministration. By the way, my name is Adejoke Adeleke and I have been graciously assigned to head this department.

Don't be scared by this, we are lovely people!

AND NOW OUR VISION...

1.   To make sure every member of the ministry maintains a close relationship with God.

2.   To make each member of the ministry a preacher of the Word of God.

3.   To instill into each member a problem solving spirit.

4.   To ensure each member is academically doing well

5.   To invite great people in the Christian drama world to help boost the morale and performance of each our members.

6.   To make sure each member is in good relationship with his/her parents

7.   To be able to produce a home video that with the travails of teenagers.

People have often asked me what drama is all about. Well I believe drama is more than acting, it is more than making good costumes and making people laugh or cry. This is what I believe drama should entail and that is what we do:

·         Drama is about prayer. We make out lot of time to pray for the church and ourselves.

·         Drama also is about problem solving. You take time and study the lives of people and see their problems. Drama provides a platform for the visualization of these problems and tends to proffer solutions.

·          Most especially drama entails our level of relationship with the Almighty God. There is so much about drama that we cant separate it from the way we live our lives.

·         I must fail to also state that drama is life: you see yourself and others in it. It has a way of making you put another mans clothes (hope you understand what I mean)

·         But most importantly drama is more of a spiritual phenomenon that we think it to be physical. One of the reasons why we take prayers to be number 1 is the fact that there have been cases of people playing evil parts and before you know it they begin to live their lives that way. Well I have heard of cases where people die after making a drama where they played a dead part. So prayers must be taken seriously in drama.
